xaoc flagship digital oscillator module, implementing the principle of additive synthesis controlled by a set of carefully tailored macro parameters to harness thousands of sinusoidal partials that altogether
form the resulting sound. the series of harmonics can be squeezed or spread apart, tilted, and pruned by a comb-like frequency response, resulting in a variety of unearthly sounds.
additive synthesis engine - 2500 harmonic partials generated - straightforward user interface - through-zero linear fm - detuneable clusters of up to 5 voices - expandable with lipsk and another planned
expander for individual voice pitch control
odessa is an additive oscillator, which means the output signal is synthesized by adding a multitude (up to 2560) of sinusoidal components (harmonic partials). by manipulating their parameters it is possible
to obtain a very broad range of unearthly sounds, but also the classic saw, square and pure sine.
odessa offers a set of controls that allow to shape the spectrum by deciding on how many partials are produced, and how they are distributed in frequency and amplitude, which is illustrated by a spectrum
analyzer with 12 multi-color leds. the series of harmonics can be squeezed or spread apart, tilted, and pruned by a comb-like frequency response, resulting in a huge variety of spectra. animating the comb
response yields radical effects similar to flanging and phasing.
all partials are frequency related to the common fundamental controlled by a v/oct input. additionally, the signal can be frequency modulated by exponential and linear (through zero) manner. also, up to 5
detuned voices can be spread apart for a fat and dense cluster, or a powerful chord.
